Experience:
A New Orleans, LA, native, Allen has 30 years experience in sales, service, underwriting & development of commercial insurance programs, loss forecasting, statistical analysis, reinsurance, captives, insurance company formation, retirement planning, & regulatory compliance for public, private, & non-profit sectors, associations, pools, individual self insureds, captives and PEOs.  He has served as owner, agent, broker, wholesaler, underwriter, program manager, intermediary, consultant, registered principal and board member of various entities

Focus has been the development, rollout & underwriting of specialty WC programs, self insurance plans, loss sensitive retros, layered property, & combined lines aggregate insurance programs in niche markets utilizing skills in underwriting, sales, marketing and strategic management planning.  He has broad experience dealing with committees, public hearings, public bid work as well as association trade shows, mail marketing campaigns, and jobsite enrollments.

He has participated in feasibility studies, captive formation projects, insurance company startups, PEO plans, various alternative market programs, as well as multi-state program marketing, sales, service & underwriting. He has marketed initial rollout of diverse products such as auto dealership packages, student accident, Real Estate E&O, Association WC Self Insured Trusts, Risk Retention Groups, Occupational accident, WC deductible plans, multi-state PEO products, and reinsurance arrangements.

 Allen has been a key team member of an insurance company acquisition where he developed, implemented & underwrote a large deductible workers compensation program from idea to a multiple state penetration of over 100 million premiums in less than one year.  He developed regulatory compliance procedures for a national expansion in over 30 states, and also field marketed a new product rollout of a 24 hour Work Comp & Health program.

Successful marketing campaigns have also included student accident coverage for 50 of 67 FL public school districts, self insured WC programs for 1/3 of all LA public school districts, over 100 LA homebuilders personally sold in one year for assn program, IPO & launch of a new insurance co., offshore captive formations, and multiple national, sales awards during his career.

Background also includes 7 years experience in financial products & retirement planning, and an overseas assignment at a Lloyds London brokerage house.  He has been a guest speaker on insurance topics, contributed articles to trade publications,  worked with GASB 10 liabilities recognition, developed proprietary loss forecasting models, served as advisor to offshore reinsurers and has been utilized as an expert witness in litigation.
